I credit my mother with the creation of this podcast. When I was young we lived together in cramped condos and basement suites, and we were always watching movies. She would always make sure that I was watching both the classics from her time and keeping up with the current slew of films that were just coming out on video.
A lot of the roots of this podcast come from my long conversations with my mother regarding films that we had watched together. We loved to discuss film and how it made us think or feel.
In 2008 I moved from my hometown to Vancouver to go to film school at Capilano University. I always wanted to be a director, writer, or producer. I never really went that route but maybe one day I will. What I did get out of film school is a lot of knowledge about films and a lot of very close friends.
A year after I started this podcast both my parents passed away from cancer. Before this happened I wasn't entirely entrenched in the world of film review. I would still talk to my mother about movies almost every week and even right up until her death, but I was never really going for it like she would have wanted me to.
So now I'm going for it. I'm in this for the long haul, trust me.
This podcast is about movies. It is about loving or hating them. It is about the guests. It is about stories. It is about living for and loving the filmmaking process. This podcast is for anyone who has ever had a conversation about a film with another person in their life. This podcast is LET'S WATCH THAT!
